PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
The 304 steel grade is modified by adding titanium (Ti) as a carbide-stabilizing element to suppress intergranular sensitization. This steel was developed for use within the sensitization temperature range (450°C–850°C). However, the addition of Ti results in a steel grade prone to defects such as inclusion lines and Ti-segregation streaks.
